![]() And that is why i gave it four stars, I came with no expectations. I am sure there are things i have missed. It provides enough realism for the newcomer to make it fun, but without giving you things that you will get frustrated with. And can allow you to enjoy the game without being bogged down with things that some people may not enjoy managing such as oxygen or fuel. The realism options in this game are quite good. Other than that, if you have a long way to go it is useful. Its possible to miss things you may have wanted to do. Although i would advise using it sparingly or in slower speeds at times. Luckily there is a function for you to speed up time. And despite my gripes about tutorials, some of that fun can be learning how to sail the sub. If you are not expecting an updated version of the older games, it really can be enjoyable. However dont expect anything brilliant for land. Mainly in regards to the sea and the look of the subs. This obviously did not affect me personally, but i can see why it would be a negative point for veterans of the series. And dumbing down anything that is supposed to be a simulator of sorts is not a good thing. From what i know of the others, this game has been dumbed down somewhat. The next is a neutral point for me as i have not played the other games. because there is a lot more you need to know. Not an easy feat if you are a complete novice. This lets you down later in game, because you have to figure out how to position yourself against, sometimes fast moving, targets. Bearing in mind that the targets it teaches you to fire at are not moving and are positioned perfectly so you would be hard pressed to miss. It teaches you how to fire your torpedos, how to plot courses and how to dock. ![]() And did not seem very intuitive to me.Īnother thing is the tutorial. The control layout on the keyboard can take a while to memorise. The game patches from Ubisoft seem to have solved a few of the others i have heard about. The worst so far being CO2 building up despite being surfaced. Well, as has been previously stated, i would have liked some more depth, a bit more control and a little less point and click. So lets start with what i view as the negatives of this game: Could have been more in depth (no pun intended) But the game still requires some tactical thinking. As someone who has not played the other Silent Hunter games, i can say that, as a game this is quite enjoyable.
